North Rim des Grand Canyon

Photo Smurf Adventure on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon 

On Memorial Day 2013 Photo Schlumpfs traveled through Kanab 

adventure to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Kanab be mentioned 

at this point because Schlumpfs Photo Adventure Trips even then had 

the unconditional desire to get hold of a permit for The Wave in the 

Vermilion Cliffs National Monument. Unfortunately, the view was on 

very low, but Asking is well known anything yet. The adventure into the 

wave should not take place until a few years later. Instead, the North 

Rim was now with the Grand Canyon Lodge goal. From Kanab it was 

about 80 miles to the Lodge, past desert-like areas but also green 

meadows with Tatomkas as buffalo. 

The North Rim is located at about 2,500 m above sea level, that is 

again a vertical drop of 400 m to the South Rim. The Colorado flows, 

however, an average of 750 m above sea level. Who can manage it 

somehow should drop on the West Coast tour in any case at the North 

Rim. Although the canyon is the same. But the view is fascinatingly 

different. While at the South Rim hotels are located near hotels, 

tourism is channeling with shuttle buses, there are on the north side 

only one hotel and a campsite. Accordingly, quiet is here too. However, 

it also means that you should try that hotel to book in advance. 

Photo Smurf Adventure travel has fully booked six months before the 

trip, the Cottage. On Memorial Day, the hotel itself was of course fully 

booked.

The Grand Canyon is one of the most impressive natural sites for photo 

Smurf Adventure has seen its on previous trips. The Serengeti, Uluru or 

the flora and fauna of the Red Sea, the whales off Cape Cod or the 

naturalness of Isla Holbox, the Wadden Sea in Germany: these are all 

monuments of nature that should us make man in awe of Mother Gaia. 

The Grand Canyon plays in the same league, albeit differently. Maybe 

he's the quarterback under the renowned landscape wonders of our 

planet. In part, this also depends with its huge surface together, on the 

other safe because it documents the impermanence and change the 

world for so many millions of years. 

If you are on the North Rim has to visit the stunning Angels Point one 

absolutely. The existing trails are already top class. There are several 

other great vantage points. The density of Japanese sticks as opposed 

to the south also still limited. But you should also take the opportunity, 

in the evening to look at the starry sky. But beware, the North Rim, the 

climate is much rougher. Two days ago it was in Las Vegas for over 30 

degrees, the North Rim had photo Schlumpfs adventure travel, 

however, accept temperatures that were just slightly above the 

freezing point. There was also a relatively strong wind, the wind chill 

again a little lowered on that day. Without warm jacket and blanket the 

time to star keeps watch in wicked borders.

At the lodge, there is otherwise almost everything lunch with pizzas, of 

course, there also the gift shop. Parking is not a problem. In the 

evening you can also enjoy the view of the canyon very cozy with a 

glass of wine. Before the "wild animals" you should take a little wary 

because they have no fear of people, when feeding they could so easily 

and quickly snap times.

Fotoschlumpfs Abenteurreisen fliegt über den Grand Canyon

Fotoschlumpfs Abenteuerreisen wollte ursprünglich auf dem Rückweg von der Wave noch einmal zum Grand Canyon. Weterbedingt ist der Zeitplan in dieser einen Februarwoche im Jahr 2015 erheblich ins Trudel geraten. Eine kleines Wiedersehen mit dem atemberaubenden Canyon gab es dann doch noch. Der Rückflug von Las Vegas nach Dallas verlief direkt über den Grand Canyon. Aus dieser Perspektive hat der Canyon auch einen großen Reiz.
